As the health care industry is growing, there is a strong need for well-trained, certified medical assistants. A medical assistant is basically a service provider that comes under health care genre. He/she performs administrative and clinical tasks to support the work of medical doctors and other health professionals. As he is a non-licensed professional, he works under a licensed physician in a doctor’s office, clinic, hospital or other health care setting and assists in running the organization. Earlier, a high school diploma was enough to obtain this position, but now candidates with medical assistant certification as well as medical assistant training are preferred.
Medical assistant certification is, essentially, a professional “seal of approval” attesting that one has the necessary knowledge to work as a medical assistant. Similarly, medical assistant training ensures that the person has practical and professional exposure, which is always preferred by the employers. Training is the initial step in this high-demanding career which is an add-on to the work experience.
